a wee giveaway

Whoops! I really did mean to come back to this space yesterday to do the giveaway, but Rob had the day off and we were able to spend it doing fun stuff like skiing:

So onto the giveaway. I'm offering up a pair of two bird ornaments, in the colors of your choice.

Leave a comment here telling me what handmade holiday plans you have-- what handmade things do you plan to buy, and what will you be making? You can leave a second comment if you're a follower (or become one).

I'll keep the giveaway open through tomorrow night (Sunday, November 14) at midnight Alaska time. The winner will be picked by a random number generator. Good luck, and enjoy your weekend!

I am making my brother a quilt, and my mom an apron. I am also going to attempt some quilted growth charts for my nephews and niece (I saw a tutorial on Moda Bake Shop). If I happen to see anything super cute I might buy it, but I haven't decided yet!

I'm making a yarn wreath for my mother and a tea party table cloth for my 2.5 year old. I'm buying a handmade painting for my sister. Love the bird ornaments!

I plan to make some more ornaments, some teachers gifts, some pillows, and more but it depends on time!

If I'm crafting I'm procrastinating writing. I will likely make my Mom some Christmas napkins though.

I am making Thanksgiving and Christmas Lunches for the single Coasties here in Valdez. I like to adopt all the people who are unable to go home to be with their families during the holidays, it makes it easier to be away from mine.

I'm making a bunting for my SIL and I made a quilt for my sister. I feel like there's a lot else I'm making, but I really need a list!

Thanks so much for the chance to win one of these beautiful birds!! I love them!

I am making some potholders and table runners as gifts this year.

My only handmade holiday plan is to make the quilt I promised my daughter from her wedding linens. I don't have time for a lot else. It will be a queen sized quilt with 9 inch squares, so I can easily make it 108x018 the requested size.

I don't know that I will be making anything handmade, except homemade pie!

umm can i play even though i already got one? seriously i want a million of these little guys.
we just moved and have all our holiday decor in storage so we are making EVERYTHING from decor, to stockings, to cookies and other goodies. my husband and i decided to go handmade this year since we are so far from everyone to make it mean more. i have like 50 projects started. yikes!
i am also a follower and reader subscriber!

well the handmade stuff is going to be on the low side this year. my best homemade contribution to christmas is going to be a baby...otherwise i was thinking of using etsy to get a few things for the women in my family. These birds are adorable...thanks for having a little giveaway.

hmm, not sure what I'll be making. Maybe some play stuff for my girls' kitchen (which I neglected to make stuff for last year). Some ornaments and a table runner. Hopefully I'll be mostly online shopping for the rest! :)

Your birds are too cute. My aunt gave me one last year that's sort of similar that she had made back in the 70's, pretty cute!

The Offspring have been put in charge of making gifts for the grandparents and great-grandparents. They have everything they could possible need...except a bit of cute factor from my children.

My mom has pretty serious health problems and is now having to use a walker. I found a crochet pattern for a "purse" that attaches to a walker for her to keep some odds and ends.

We are going to make some ornaments for the tree.

I usually try to make everyone's gift, but this year I'm not adding that stress. I work full time and just can't squeeze it all into the evenings and weekends unless that's *all* I do. I end up stressed and grouchy. Not fun at all. So, not this year.

And I follow you through my Google Reader.

I have a lot planned for this holiday season as far as handmade goes. I've been dabbling in being crafty and I have a toddler who can seriously never have too many dresses and skirts so it looks like Santa and his elves might be super busy!

I would like to make my daughter some kind of art portfolio. thank you, cute bird!

I'm making a runner for the foyer with a matching runner for the kitchen island out of 12 Days of Christmas--so far, it's turning out cute! I do not plan to buy anything but I sure am a sucker for anything handmade at a craft show!!

I am making pretty much everything this holiday - embroidering a tablecloth, tea towels, painting mugs, several pieces of wall art, ornaments, and a couple of pillows.
I adore your birdies (and I am still holding out hope that I am a secret swap partner!).

hugs,

All of my gifts this year will be handmade by me. Unless I win any awesome giveaways or giftcards or anything that is. One brother asked for a quilt top, Mom asked for pillowcases and sis asked for baby stuff. Don't know exactly what everyone else is getting yet, but I'll be working that out tomorrow.

I can't believe you just go skiing when you want to... I'm so jealous...

Thank you for this generous giveaway. Would love to have something handmade for myself as I am the only crafty person in my family I make for everyone else except myself. LOL!

The kids got handmade last year, this year it is the adults turn. Family members are receiving a set of kitchen towels and finger tip potholders.

I love these, I thought about buying this one (pictured) but curious if I would get exactly the one pictured in your etsy posting? And is it a different color on reverse side?

I do follow you in my reader. And I may be making some pillowcases for gifts this year, but otherwise just two overdue baby quilts!
