a spot for tea

I made this little mug rug for a friend who has a birthday this weekend. She recently started a job teaching math at one of our junior high schools, which makes her an angel I think. Just thinking of having her job makes me twitch! I thought this little gift might be good for her desk.

I was tempted to keep it, but I'll have one of my own coming soon enough-- I joined the Scrappy Mug Rug Swap on Flickr. It's going to be a fun one, because these little quilty things are small and fast to make. If you haven't joined, you should! Sign ups close on August 31.

Hey, I thought we had an agreement on swaps!? hehe. Okay, if you and Amy are in then I guess I had better sign up cos I'll just feel all left out and lonely if I don't.

Wow, nice AMQG logo you've got there on your side bar!! I like it!

I wish one of my moms would make me a mug rug! Especially one as cute as yours.

I teach kindergarten. I'd love to be a part of the swap, but school just started this week. I feel like I've been hit by a truck.

The first week of kindergarten is exhausting.

I really love that fabric. Really a lot.

Such a nice present! And a lovely way to use some scraps.

I just love this. I love the way you framed things with your quilting.

This might seem a bizarre question but what stitch length do you use for quilting. I am just getting started in this area and could use some advice. Thanks.
