Alaska State Fair

Yesterday we played hooky and went to the State Fair!

There were rides

hula hoops

and funnel cakes.

We watched some crazy horse action

then the girls got in some of their own.

Cooper was his mellow self and just soaked it all in

And of course there were quilts.

This one was my favorite. The detail that goes into all of these quilts always amazes me. There are definitely a lot of talented quilters in our state!

Hope you had a good weekend! We've got another long one coming up for Labor Day here in the States. Any fun plans?

I love how your quilts are displayed, at the Iowa State Fair, you rarely get to see the whole quilt, usually a slice of it, as it is hanging folded next to hundreds of others...

Looks like a fun day was had by all.

oh i loved the fair!!! the first time we took Avery she slept and just got carried along all day but when we walked onto the midway she freaked out!!! at the time i did not appreciate the quilts for anything more than that my friends mom had some there....the corn and the cookies were amazing.

that horse show looks so cool!!!!

I love how they suspended these quilts from the ceiling!

They are such great inspiration.

Thanks for sharing those quilts! This labor day weekend my hubbie is going backpacking, so I'll be home with the kids. It's a fair trade for my weekend sewing workshop while we were on vacation in Nashville. So, I'll be "single mom" and hopefully, wishfully sewing?

I love that brown square-filled quilt!

For Labor Day, I plan on not being sick, eating Mexican food, taking naps, and watching football.

We are way exciting around this house.

Great quilts! I love the waves created in the blue and white one. The kids look like they had a great day.
