scenes from the (road-trippin') weekend

Or should I say, the AWESOME road-trippin' weekend.

We just got back from our 4-day, post-school family roadtrip. We really racked up the miles AND the memories. We...

... saw (and touched) the sealife in Seward.

... cruised through icebergs in Prince William Sound.

... learned how to embroider.

... saw tons of waterfalls.

... loved all the snow still in Thompson Pass.

... enjoyed post-bedtime campfires.

... popped the top!

... experienced our first roadtrip breakdown thanks to a hole in our radiator hose.

... hiked the trails.

... took lots of food breaks.

... enjoyed spending time with each other.

And we took a lot of photos. (On a side note, I don't think anyone has more handsome guys than me.)

Amazingly, Cooper slept better on the road than he does at home and hardly even made a fuss during those long hours in his carseat. Avery and Claire declared this "our best roadtrip ever." The weather couldn't have been better. It was really, really great.

Now that we're home, I'm ready to get the house ready for some flowers. I also got some really great mail, which I'll share tomorrow.

Awesome, indeedy! Love those broad, U-shaped glaciated valleys. And shorts in Alaska in mid-May - double awesome!

What a fun trip! And yes you do have 2 very handsome fellas in your life!

Your photos have made me anxious for our family trip coming up in July. We are going camping for a week down in the Giant Redwoods of Northern California. Can't wait!

Um yeah. Roadtrips in your neck o' the woods are a bit more scenic than in mine. I don't know how I'd get anything done if I lived in such a gorgeous piece of scenery!
