catch up

It seems like every week I tell myself I'll do at least a couple of blog posts. Then life gets in the way. The posts don't get written. And when I do get to this space, I don't know where to start.

Even though I haven't been posting, I've sewn a ton over the last month. Last weekend I had a booth at a huge local bazaar and spent every spare minute getting ready for it! I'm happy to say I had a blast. Avery and Claire came with me to set up and were a huge help, Charlotte did fine without me (it was the first time leaving her for more than a couple of hours), I sold a good amount of things, and people there were SO NICE. It always feels good to have adult conversations about things that I love to do.

I do have a few zip pouches and bags left over that I'll post to my etsy shop in the next few days, if you're interested.

This weekend I had hoped to take advantage of Rob being out of town by getting my disaster of a sewing room cleaned up and catching up on bee blocks (I have 8 to do to get current, plus 3 for November, omg), but Cooper got a nasty cold and cough, then pukes, that changed my plans. I won't lie-- it was frustrating. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment by all the things that I need and WANT to do. After the craft bazaar I decided I wanted to refocus. My kids are growing so fast-- I need more one on one time with them. My house needs cozying for winter. I need to start exercising (nursing may melt the pounds, but it doesn't replace the muscle loss!). And I want to spend more quality time with Rob. I've had moments where I've considered giving up sewing and quilting altogether. But that's not something I can do. Alicia Paulson wrote the other day that knitting is like her multivitamin-- without it, she feels unbalanced. That's how I feel about my making. So I'll keep on trying to catch up, in the early mornings and spare moments of my days. And eventually I'll get caught up here too. Thanks for continuing to stop in and read.
