ah, I've missed you!

First, thank you for all of the sweet comments about Charlotte's arrival. I feel terrible that I haven't replied to anyone. Our kitchen computer that I used for blogging and photos and emails went kaput after getting yet another virus. So I've been doing pretty much everything related to the internet on my iPad, usually one-handed while nursing, and it just is no fun to type things out on there. Hence no emails for you. But I promise to figure out a solution, because I just don't like it when I can't interact. That's one of my favorite parts about having this blog after all.

So what have we been up to? Baby snuggling, baby feeding, baby changing, potty training, school shopping, bike riding, dog walking, zoo going, boogie sucking, playdoh creating, and soaking in what is left of our not-so-summery summer. I'm even back to sewing in little spurts when all of the kids cooperate.

My creation

Avery and Claire start school tomorrow. I don't know whether to do a bit of a happy dance or cry. They've really changed over the summer, coming into their own, and are fun to hang out with. I'll miss having them around, and Cooper will be especially sad to not have his playmates. But I know we are all looking forward to routine again as well. I just wish we had a few more weeks.

A couple of other things--

Are any of you going to QuiltCon? Registration opens next week. I'm trying to decide if it's worth it to go, with all of the expense and planning it will take (and the fact that I will need to take Charlotte with me too). But the instructors who will be there are AMAZING. Textile printing with Lotta Jansdotter? Quilting with Anna Maria Horner, Denyse Schmidt, and Sherri Lynn-Wood?  And I feel like I just have to take a paper piecing class with Penny if I'm ever going to "get it." That alone would be worth the cost! But I'm still torn. Help me make my decision.

For those of you who use an iPad, do you blog from it? And if you do, what app do you use? I need some help here.

Oh, and I finally figured out that Instagram is not just a fun photo filter app (thanks K2!), and am using it appropriately. That means I've taken off any photos that you don't want to see (like stitches in Claire's toe) and am happy to share all the rest. You can find me there as kristafleck.

I'm planning on going to QuiltCon and I'm so excited about all the classes too! Hopefully things will work out for you. Given how booked the hotel rooms already seem to be, I suspect it will be a popular enough event that there will be more of them. Hope for the future in case this first one doesn't work out. I have my blog on wordpress and they have a nice app that's on both my ipad and phone and I've done blog posts from both. It works pretty well except for that lack of keyboard thing :-)

We have a group of five or six headed to QuiltCon from Charleston, SC. Pretty impressive as we just started a MQG about three months ago. If you come, I'd be happy to help with Charlotte- she's beautiful. My youngest is 15 and the oldest is married. They grow so fast.

I've been eyeing iPads as a fun toy and i'm interested to hear what others say about blogging from it!

I'll be at QuiltCon!

You have a lot on your plate at the moment Krista, but I hope you get a chance to go to QuiltCon.

I'm planning on going to Quiltcon, and have signed up as a volunteer. I just need a roommate. (oh, and I am very baby friendly)

No Quiltcon for me next year. I do blog (blogger), OK not very often but when I do from my iPad with BlogPress $4.99. This was the only app that I could upload pictures right from the iPad.

I'll be at QuiltCon! I think it's going to a run for the money to get into the workshops I want, though.

Great photos Krista, Charlotte is beautiful. My "baby" turns 40 today so enjoy them while they are little because the years rocket by!
If you can get into the classes and find accomodation I say go to quiltcon. Life is short, enjoy every minute of it!

Great pictures - I can't believe you've found some time to sew already! Your little Charlotte is adorable! I'm planning on going to QuiltCon and can't wait to register in just eight days. I think I'm most looking forward to meeting online friends who are also passionate about modern quilting. Hope to meet you there!

How did registration go?? I hope you got the classes/lectures you wanted. I will be armchair quilt conning on my iPhone, watching everyone's IG and Twitter feeds and look forward to first hand reports from my VMQG peeps when they get back.

Congratulations on your new little bundle. She's adorable and I can see that the other kids are thrilled with her.
First of all, get yourself a keyboard to go with your ipad. I have a Zaggmate. It is designed to be a cover for the ipad and is made out of aluminum on the back. If you keep your ipad in a cover, you probably don't need one that fancy. With the keyboard no more switching back and forth between the letters and the numbers - just to get an apostrophe! I guess I use them a lot. I don't blog yet. Probably won't with the ipad because I have a first generation - no camera. I still use a Dell but no virus in a long time - secured with McAfee set up totally automatic, yearly renewal and automatic scans. Can't be too careful with a PC. If I ever upgrade my computer, it will be an Apple. Much less trouble with viruses. Hope you got to go to QuiltCon. N
