I reached the 400 followers mark! To celebrate, I'm giving away this fall-inspired fabric bundle. The winner will receive fat thirds (did I make that up?) of six fabrics and three matching 8" zippers.

  3. Soups, stews, chili. Don't tell my husband but I am happy that fall sort of means the end of BBQ season! It is not my favorite, but all of these cozy, hot, cooked-indoors meals are the best!!

  7. i love shepherd's pie at this time of year...ive been playing with my recipe and made it last weekend and my dad loved it...not so much my kids!! cute fabrics Krista congrats on 400! you rock star.

    Seriously, I love a nice pot of soup in the fall and I've got an Autumn soup recipe that I love - thick with veggies and some Italian sausage and just so yummy! Served with some fresh bread or biscuits and the cold and damp just disappear!

  15. A toss up between giant baked potatoes and vegetable pot pie. (Anything to keep the oven warming the kitchen for a good portion of the day)

  16. I make a casserole with sweet yams or acorn squash and sausage that is divine.... cooking in the autumn is my favorite because I love playing with the different variety of squash

  20. Chicken pot pie! Tomorrow I'm going to try Alicia Paulson's suggestion and top Ina's stew with sweet potato biscuits! It is still about 80 degrees here in Florida but sometimes you just have to pretend like it's cold outside to get into the seasonal spirit :)

  32. Fall fabric and zippers and all I have to do is talk about one of my favorite hobbies--eating! I am so in...my favorite meal may be what we had today. My husband smoked a big Boston Butt and ribs. Mmmm... But then again, it might be a creamy soup and crusty bread. Or maybe, well you get the idea. Awesome giveaway!

  38. My fav meal....Shrimp Creole! When my husband has to out of town, I make a big pot of it and eat it every day while he is gone!

  43. My favourite meal - it's hard to just choose one! I guess it would be roast pumpkin and feta salad. Yeah, we are going into the warmer weather here in Aust so we are thinking salads, not stews!

  49. Chicken Pot Pie hands down but only if it's homemade and with a cheesy crust. MMmmmm Followed by warm pumpkin pie and tea.

  51. I like a big bowl of stew with biscuits on the side. Throw in a dessert of pumpkin pie and coffee both topped with whipped cream and a little cinnamon. Isn't cinnamon a fall spice?

  63. Not really a meal but ,in France, during fall, we find "marrons grillés", It's chestnuts cooked over a wood fire.
    We cook it at home or we buy it from street vendors , they are in small "paper cones", it warms your hands and it's very good!

  65. Taco Soup! I can make it in less than ten minutes. Brown 1 lb of burger with a chopped onion and throw in a can of diced tomatoes with juice, a can of black beans,drained, a can of corn with juice and a can of olives drained. Add a packet of taco seasoning and some water and Viola, a hearty Fall soup that's great served with cornbread.

  73. I am so ready for pumpkin pie. And yes, it is a meal. I think it is perfect for breakfast. I usually only put half the sugar in and double or triple the spices so it is a fabulous breakfast. Lots of fiber. yum.

Sunday lunch - roast beef, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, roast butternut squash, gravy, sprouts, cabbage, yorkshire puddings, glass of wine or two, a kitkat or two for afters and then lie on the sofa under a quilt with a pillow under my head and see the first and last five minutes of a film, being asleep during the vital middle bit. If it's Inception, haven't got a clue what's going on.
