Isn't this why we all spend hours sewing up things like quilts and toys and clothes?
Please excuse me for my lack of posting. Part of it is due to being in a bit of a funk (long story short-- Avery and Claire are now spending more time with their birth father, which has resulted in a good amount of anxiety on my end). I'm also spending the majority of my free time during weekends and naptimes running my butt off (last Saturday was a half marathon, and this Saturday we're scheduled to do 230 minutes). But the best reason is that I'm sewing for a special little person who is about to be born. I don't want his mom (yes, Katrina, I'm talking about you) to see photos of his wee little things before she receives them in person. But within a couple of weeks I'll be able to share.

I'm so impressed you have the stamina and the mind strength to do all that running on top of looking after a family... You're such an amazing example to your girls... (don't worry!)

I always tell the parents of the babies for whom I make quilts that my fondest wish would be that the quilt would be loved to death and end up in a rag bin from all the use.

so for the anxiety...that must be really hard. i love the pictures of the quilt in action. i get so excited when any one of the kids likes something i made for them.

I love how you use your quilt as a part of daily life. I let my kids sleep with their antique quilts, and I don't worry too much about what happens to them. It's part of the enjoyment of their childhood, and I think it's part of the fun.
