I just finished up baby Jack's quilt top! I cut and pieced the fabric really randomly in a stacked strip design using this inspiration piece from the nursery. Poor Katrina, she called me after reading that post and told me I could use other fabrics if I wanted to! I hope I reassured her that I really like this color scheme, and the fabrics (that all came from my stash).
I decided to go with my gut and use Kona Stone instead of white or gray. I think it really sets off the prints, plus it makes the quilt more baby friendly and stain resistant. One issue I'm having now that I look at the phots is that the strips seem a bit unbalanced. I might seam rip the section in the middle and flip it. Or just trim more off of that right side. Or both! Hmmm.
Once I have things balanced, it will be time to pick some backing fabric (I think I have something super cool that will work) and get to quilting!
